Reposted: May 01, 2012 Launching

I sent this email last 2012 after our May 01 launching to our Generations Director, please see below:

May 01 Launching

It was indeed a historic event to gather more than 150 young ones from different churches in Negros Oriental last May 01, 2012 as we launched the Generations Project - Philippines. God is indeed moving in this generation and in this side of the world as he has touched young people and professionals to gather together at Bethel Guest House to take part in building God's Kingdom in these last days.

We were able to identify different key individuals become core leaders from the churches present at the launch. It was a mixed group of students, youth workers and professionals with different gifts with one desire to touch this generation with God's love and message.

It is the desire of the group to see the movement grow with the goal to establish different local groups strategically located in key cities within the country, building each other up through fellowship and bring holistic impact to our society and the nation at large.

The Generations Project -Philippines Facebook page and group was also launched to connect the participants from time to time and update them to what Generations Project is doing.

It was a great blessing to hear each leader's heart cry for our generation. One even desired to join the group because he wants to take part in fulfilling the great commission and be in fellowship with other believers, who has the same passion as he has.

The group also identified different key positions aside from the National Chairman to move the group forward as we start the movement in the Philippines.

Given that there were only 8 present in the core group, we decided to invite other key youth leaders recommended by our national leaders to join us on a dinner meeting at Bethel Guest House scheduled on October 13 to present to them Generations Project and ask them to take part in this endeavor.

The meeting ended with each individual sharing their passion and desire on how GP-Philippines can help them grow and at the same time bring closeness to the leaders and churches they represent.

How Generations Project Began

The Generations Project started at Aglow International in 2006 and was born out of many prophetic words calling the younger generation into Aglow. A viable expression of the Aglow ministry, the Generations Project’s aim is to build relationships through community: Join to Have It; Reach to Touch It! Generations Groups range in age from young kids to age 35 who gather monthly to have Godly fellowship and use their talents to interact with their community.

Our Mission:

To see young people form community groups, where they first can grow in their relationship with God and one another. As they grow in their gifting, they would use their creativity to touch their community with the Kingdom, bringing light to the darkness.

In 2011, the number of Generations Groups grew from 35 to over 50 groups. Groups are spread out around the world from around the US to Albania, Britain, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Guatemala, Guinea Bissau, Italy, Romania, Zambia and more. Many of our groups are unique and have their own style of accomplishing the mission. We have children’s Bible study groups, teen study groups, dance groups, creative arts sharing groups, worship groups, young moms group, and more.

Young people involved in Generations Project are uniquely impacting their world for Jesus. They are using their gifts to touch hearts. I invite you to start a group, join a group, or travel with us overseas. Come be a part of what God is doing in our Generation.
